Meet Elissa. . .

Finding a therapist and beginning therapy can be a daunting and overwhelming process. As a therapist, it is my goal to simplify that process. I believe in the importance of creating a welcoming environment that promotes growth and self-discovery. I work from a collaborative and goal-oriented treatment model. I believe in meeting each client where they are and developing a treatment plan that is tailored to their unique needs and goals.

My practice includes clients of all ages. However, I am particularly passionate about working with children, adolescents and emerging adults, and I find play therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to be particularly helpful with these populations.  I offer clinical services to address depression, anxiety, relational distress, academic concerns, and behavioral issues. I enjoy incorporating mindfulness techniques into my therapeutic work such as deep breathing, relaxation strategies, and meditation. I also value the integration of faith into the therapy process. I also enjoy group work relating to social and academic skills, social-emotional development, behavioral management, and boundary setting.

I utilize psychological assessments to supplement the work done in therapy and I welcome the opportunity to utilize my strong background in this area administering psychological and neuro-psychological testing to children and adults for a variety of issues including academic concerns, attention difficulties, learning disabilities, social/emotional concerns, and career aptitude concerns.

Currently, I have daytime availability for new therapy clients and I am accepting all clients needing assessment or diagnostic services.

Credentials:

PsyD in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Chicago IL

Insurance:

I am a provider for BCBSIL PPO plans, Aetna, Cigna, Meritain, and I work with most insurance plans out of network.
